8R Tractors win two prestigious industrial design awards

Rolling across a field, a new John Deere 8RX track tractor looks muscular, powerful, and, well, like the future.

It’s not just another tractor, it’s a visual statement about the future of farming equipment.

8R tractors feature precision robotics and are powered by artificial intelligence, including more than 200 integrated sensors for connectivity and advanced self-driving capabilities. So, it’s fitting the tractors look futuristic.

“The new design language of our equipment speaks not only to the strength of our machines, but the extent of the technology integrated inside. These awards recognize that Deere differentiates by design and innovation, just as we differentiate by performance, quality and reliability.”

Their groundbreaking new industrial design has won two of the oldest and most prestigious industrial design awards – the Red Dot and iF awards for product design.

“The 8R tractors have a striking external appearance that is an expression of their performance and efficiency,” the jury for the Red Dot Award said. “The interior is well thought out in terms of ergonomics.”

In announcing the 8R tractors won the 2020 iF Design Award for Discipline Product, the organization said:

“The new John Deere 8Rs are not your average tractors. They are mobile computational platforms, engineered to help resolve some of the biggest challenges farmers face today.”
